RIPPLE AFGHAN

4-Ply Yarn

Tension about 6 (whatever is suitable for yarn)

(Do not wrap yarn in short rows; the holes are part of the design.)

Closed cast on 40 stitches.

Knit 2 rows.

Put all but 2 needles next to carriage in hold. Knit 2 rows.

*Put back into working position 2 needles at a time. Knit 2 rows. Repeat
and knit 3 rows last time, so that carriage is on left.

Put 2 needles opposite carriage into hold. Knit 2 rows. Repeat until all
stitches are in hold except 2.

Put back into work 2 needles at a time. Knit 2 rows. Repeat until all
sts. are in hold except 2.*

Repeat these last 4 steps from * to * until panel is as long as you wish. Then knit 3
rows and bind off all but first and last stitches. These are used to join
panels. Unravel 2 loops at a time from one panel and then another. Pull
the loops through as if joining hairpin lace.
